The trail to Laguna de Los Tres that
used to start at Hostería El Pilar has changed its starting
point. It is now accessed from the Río Eléctrico Bridge.
Upon arriving at the Río Eléctrico, directional signs will appear.
A few meters from the Río Eléctrico Bridge, you will
reach a small stream where you will see the signs; you should take
the trail and follow the arrows.
The first 900 meters of the trail (approximately 15 minutes) are
marked with red and yellow stakes.
Once you have walked the 900 meters, the trail opens in two; on
the left you go to Laguna de los Tres and on the right to Refugio Fraile.
Take the path on the left, marked with red stakes. There is a large directional sign.
This trail leads to a bridge.
Cross the bridge, go uphill and connect with the original trail,
which used to start in El Pilar and goes through the Piedras Blancas
viewpoint until you reach Poincenot.
From that point you will access the last kilometer of the trail to Laguna de
Los Tres. This section is the most demanding.
You can decide not to climb this last kilometer and return to Chaltén.
You return to Chaltén by the Laguna Capri trail.
